It’s easy to get to the Mafia Kivulini Lodge from anywhere in the marine park, which makes it a great starting point for swimming, diving, fishing, or whale shark trips. This lodge isn’t just for people who like to fish or dive, though. For people who need a break from their busy or fast-paced lives, it’s a cute little place to go. There are only four rooms, and they are tucked between old trees. The word “kivulini” means “in the shadow” in Swahili, so the mood is beautiful and private.

There is nothing dirty or stained in the rooms. While they blow soft breezes, electric fans don’t make noise. On hot days, you can turn on the air conditioning. The diner serves breakfast and dinner. For breakfast, you can get fresh fruits in season, muffins, pancakes, and more.

For dinner, there is a three-course set meal with mostly tropical dishes made with coconut milk. You can also eat fresh seafood, and the sailors are right outside on the water. For your drinking pleasure, there is a jug of freshwater in the room that comes from the lodge’s own spring and is very clear!
