Flying Doctors Services

Flying Doctors Services. As you make plans for your East Africa trip, you may be worried about what will happen if you get sick in the middle of nowhere. The AMREF Flying Doctors are here to save the day. They provide a flying medical service in East Africa 24 hours a day, with doctors and pilots ready to help. This pass lets you go to any remote place in at least one of Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, or Rwanda for 40 USD per person for 30 days.

Walked on a snake?

If you have a medical problem, Flying Doctors can either give you professional advice or take you to a hospital in Nairobi, Kenya right away. Let’s say you step on a snake by accident in Kenya’s Masai Mara. You can easily get professional help over the phone, which could help you continue your trip.
We hope this helps!

If you break your leg badly while getting on a boat in Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National Park or if a medical condition you already have suddenly gets worse in the middle of Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park (knock on wood!), a flight with a whole team of medical professionals can be waiting for you at the nearest airstrip in no time. After that, the team takes you right to the hospital in Nairobi, where they can give you more help.

There are some limits

Keep in mind that Flying Doctors always figures out what kind of help is needed and only pays for emergency travel and help. You have to pay for your own visa (if you are going from outside of Kenya and being flown to Nairobi) and your care at the hospital. It doesn’t take the place of health and/or travel protection. But AMREF Flying Doctors can help make the visa process easier and make sure you get to the hospital on time.

Mountain climbers should know that the Flying Doctors Insurance does not cover evacuations from the mountains. So, please make sure that this kind of evacuation is covered by your trip insurance.

Relaxation

We care about your safety, which is why we’ll happily help you sign up for Flying Doctors Insurance. We do everything we can to make sure the trip goes smoothly, and 98% of the time, our clients say they had the best time of their lives.

But it’s always good to remember that you’re going to a wild area where animals rule and strange things can happen. These are the reasons why Flying Doctors has been flying since 1957: to give adventure lovers a safe way to travel. We all like a little excitement now and then.

Insurance for Travel to Tanzania

Our clients must have the right kind of trip insurance. One of the things that travel insurance does is cover medical costs. It also covers things like lost or damaged bags.

Insurance for Cancellations in Tanzania

It is a good idea to get canceling insurance. If you have to stop a long trip, you may only get a certain amount of money back. Please talk to your insurance company about this to make sure you are covered.
